If for no other reason than the peace process would stall. Because, well, when you state that your goal is the descrution of Israel, it's hard for, well, Israel to negotiate with you. So, bravo for the Palestinian people for keeping the prime minister's position with Fatah.

However, contraversial props to the Palestinians for allowing Hamas on the ballot. Regardless of how twisted their agenda is, no one should be kept off a ballot.
